Shabnam Jabeen
Dr. Shabnam Jabeen is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Physics Department at the University of Maryland and the Faculty Lead for the Quantum Machine Learning Track for the First Year Innovation and Research Experience (FIRE) program. She is an experimental particle physicist whose research focuses on finding new physics in extremely high energy collions of proton-proton beams at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Dr. Jabeen is a member of the CMS experiment Collaborations at the LHC, CERN, Geneva, and is the manager of the LHC Computing Cluster at UMD, part of the World Wide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG). She previously worked on the DZero (D0) experiment at Tevatron Fermi National Laboratory, USA. She is very passionate about sharing her love of physics with the public, especially the next generation.
Jabeen earned a Ph.D. in Elementary Particle Physics in 2006 from the University of Kansas.
