Tian Lan joined the QLab as part of the inaugural cohort of Fellows in 2023. He is a professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at George Washington University and the Director of the Lab
for Intelligent Networking and Computations (LINC). His research interests include optimization, AI/ML, quantum machine learning, and cybersecurity. His research projects are supported by NSF, ONR, DARPA, ARO, USMA, CISCO, and Meta.

Priort to joining GW in 2010, Dr. Lan earned a BS from Tsinghua University in 2003, MS from University of Toronto in 2005, and PhD from Princeton University in 2010, all in Electrical Engineering.
